The diagnosis of Lyme disease is difficult at best because of several reasons. Lyme Laboratory testing is often inaccurate, yielding many false negatives. This is because testing is dependent upon the timing of the blood or urine sample taken, the level of spirochete population at the time of sample collection, test sensitivity and the species that the test is designed to detect. These factors and more can make a huge difference as to the outcome and test validity.
Lyme disease is termed the great imposter because it can mimic many other disorders including, flu, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, autoimmune diseases and much more. Ultimately, the best way to diagnose is through clinical observation and differential diagnosis.
How Conventional Medicine Treats Lyme Disease
Conventional medical treatment is antibiotics for ten to twenty-one days after onset. Usually, Doxycycline is preferred, although other antibiotics may be used.
The long-term use of antibiotics is not without side effects. Antibiotics negatively destroy the microbiota of the host organism, that would be you. The result is gut inflammation, dysbiosis, and malabsorption. This can lead to systemic inflammation and poor detoxification. Also, antibiotics can have a negative impact on your mitochondria, causing or accelerating fatigue, inflammation, and a tendency toward autoimmune disorders where the body’s immune system attacks its own tissue.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is composed of acupuncture, herbology, tui-na (massage), and Dietetics (food therapy). Acupuncture and its family of medicine have been in continual use by over one-quarter of the world’s population for more than two thousand years. Chinese medicine has been prescribed to combat spirochetes for at least that same length of time.
The Traditional Chinese Medical Approach is not only ideal but innovative in many ways because of its comprehensive approach. Lyme disease can affect almost every system of the human body. That’s another reason that it is called the great imposter.
Simply lowering the pathogenic load with an antibiotic may be most effective at an acute stage of the infection, but becomes only one of the many necessary steps needed for a long-term recovery strategy.
Acupuncture needle insertion in specific points will boost a cascade of powerful chemicals, including neurotransmitters, endocannabinoids, endorphins, and enkephalins — all of which aid in lowering the systemic migratory pain and inflammation caused by the cytokine storm.
In addition, acupuncture can be used to reduce anxiety and depression and increase blood flow to the brain and the eyes. This is well needed in the case of Lyme Borreliosis affecting the brain. Acupuncture is an excellent therapy for insomnia issues related to Lyme. Whenever anyone is experiencing multiple insults to their health via an infectious disease pattern, stress is the body’s normal reaction. Acupuncture is a natural stress reliever.
Most patients describe their sixty-minute acupuncture treatment as a mini-vacation. By stimulating the powerful neurochemistry of the brain, we tap into nature’s pharmacy for our body, making us feel good and restored on a deep level. That’s what acupuncture can do for you.
Several herbs may be prescribed to any Lyme patient. In most cases, these herbs may be taken with or without conventional medicines. Herbs are given to lower the inflammation, lower the pathogenic load, repair damage done by the cytokine storm and by the spirochetes, increase vital energy by boosting mitochondria levels, improve cognitive function, resolve sleep issues, improve immune system function and much more.
Finally, the right food plan must be implemented for the patient based on their needs. Usually, I will create an anti-inflammatory food plan is best suited for the patient.
I’ve successfully treated many patients with Lyme disease over my many years in practice. Some of them came to me with a previous diagnosis, and some had other symptoms that mimic Lyme. Most cases that I’ve treated are in the chronic Lyme stage. This is the population that requires a very comprehensive medical approach.
They need acupuncture treatments every week, herbs, specific food plans, bio-energetic therapies like BEMER-PEMF and Ondamed treatments, ozone insufflation (all of which we have here in our office) rest, exercise and stress management techniques.
Biomagnetic therapy, also known as biomagnetic pair therapy or biomagnetism, is an alternative healing modality that involves the use of magnets to restore balance and promote health in the body. It is based on the concept that imbalances in the body's energy field can lead to illness and that applying magnets of varying strengths can help correct these imbalances.
The therapy is rooted in the principles of magnetism and the idea that the body has its own magnetic field. Practitioners of biomagnetic therapy believe that certain diseases and conditions are associated with specific imbalances in the body's pH levels, which can be corrected by applying magnets of opposite polarities to specific points on the body.
Biomagnetic therapy has proven to regenerate Lyme diseased tissue to full health.
